Deep breaths, deep in your lower lungs, deep stomach breaths are supposed to release a natural opiode like chemical in your brain. Instead of taking deep breaths that fill your chest in moments if anxiety, take deep breaths that fill your stomach. Since I’ve learned this, it has become crucial in my every day life. Whether I need to relax in a stressful moment or I just need to center myself at the end of a long day, the action is completely freeing. I like to monitor the slowing of my heart rate and seeping release of my muscles. Now, if I can somehow master the art of meditation, because clearing the mind (my mind) is one of the hardest things for me to actually do.
